From the East Limestone Quarterback Club:
At the time of this e-mail, I am sure that you are aware that the vote of approval was turned down by a 4-3 vote last night. We, the Quarterback Club, cannot begin to express our disappointment that something that is so needed for our children was not approved. Now is the time for us, as a community to come together and voice our concerns to our elected officials. Please contact the Limestone County Board of Education by phone at 256-233-6461 or at their website. The officials who voted for approval were: Earl Glaze, John Wayne King and Charles Shoulders. Please contact these men and tell them how thankful we are for their support. Those officials voting against improvements were: Bryant Moss, Darin Russell, Anthony Hillard and James Shannon. Please contact these men to stress that they reconsider their vote and do what is best for our children. We also ask that you contact Barry Carroll and thank him for his support. The need for our new gym is apparent. As a 5A school and the most populated in the county it seems absurd that our facilities are less than deserving to our children. East Limestone is not staying the same, it is growing at a rapid pace. We must meet the needs of our students.
Please take the time and contact our officials. As a community, we can achieve many things, but if only a few people take the time to address this issue, then perhaps our needs will not be heard. Thanks in advance for you help.
